Mardi Gras in Oak Cliff

This was one of those days that I was so happy I made the decision I did and moved to Oak Cliff - a historical community just minutes from downtown Dallas.

We have lived here for over 12 years, and it's gone from a "transitional" neighborhood to a place that everyone wants to live.

Go Oak Cliff hosts a Mardi Gras parade every year, and the friendly competition between the different neighborhoods in the area made this years parade the best - heck some of the floats would have been award worthy at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or the Rose Bowl Parade.

Winnetka Heights is one of those very special neighborhoods, and I love living just a few blocks from this vibrant group of homeowners who really know how to build a float and throw a party. Photographing their residents doing what they do best - having a great time - is what social media photography is all about.

Lisa Stewart Photography did an outstanding job capturing this community in her photos - we think you will agree. Take a look at some of our favorites on her Facebook page.
